Programme description

The B.A. Degree Program in English Studies at SWPS provides a broad education in a variety of subjects.

This includes:

advanced and proficiency level schooling in English as well as an additional foreign language (French, German, Spanish, Swedish, Arabic, Chinese or Italian)
theoretical linguistics, translation studies, literary studies and cultural studies
advanced knowledge of the cultural and literary history of Britain and the United States
professional knowledge of TEFL theory and teaching methodology
professional preparation for English-Polish and Polish-English translation and interpreting.

In addition, students acquire practical knowledge and skills extending beyond the traditional philological curriculum, in areas such as business studies, international studies, communication in the work environment, and translating EU documents.

Cooperating institutions: via Erasmus Student Exchange Programme - Vic University (Spain), Aalborg University (Denmark), University of Winchester, University of Warwick (England), Lecce University (Italy).

Requirements

High school graduation diploma, proficiency in English. Candidates holding certificates listed below do not need to take the English language examination: high school graduation diploma from an English speaking country, Certificate of Proficiency in English, Certificate in Advanced English, TOEFL (minimum 550 points in paper based test and 213 points in computer based test), IELT S (minimum 6.0 points).
