Changing-society-plakatPsychology as one of the health disciplines and science has shown a tremendous growth in its research methods and applied fields over the past decades. The essence of the given conference lies within promoting similar changes in Ukraine and is designed to change one's perspective on what psychology is all about. Ukraine deserves to be at the top on a list of the most developing countries in Europe and psychology must take the leading part in this process. The background of sharing and exchanging information are the core concepts at the Changing Society conference. The main goal is not only to promote science and objective ways of using it, but also to introduce appropriate psychological strategies while dealing with certain problems like Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), considering latest event in Ukraine.

At the conference a number of respected scholars will talk about the importance of evidence based practice in psychology, they will share their knowledge in the field of statistics and what makes psychology really scientific. Speakers will try to clearly state why some therapies and treatments are worth being used over others and will address the audience's attention to the issue of methodology in research practice. Beside that, a decent portion of attendees' attention will be drawn to the issue of psychometrics and how to choose an appropriate psychological test for the purpose of valid conclusions of clinical assessment.

The Changing Society conference is doomed to become an event to remember!

What makes it so unique? It is the first international conference in Ukraine aiming to promote psychology as science! It will help applied fields become more objective through introducing modern techniques and research methods in order to prevent inadequate practices and facilitate the usage of evidence based treatments.

||||Key speakers::

Paul W. Stephany

Paul W. Stephany is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. He has over twenty years experience working with children with autism and developmental disabilities. Currently, Paul is a clinical supervisor at Fundacja Krok Po Kroku, an intervention behavior treatment program for children with autism. Previously, Paul taught graduate courses at California State University, Stanislaus and worked as a behavior analyst for the Stanislaus County Office of Education.

Maksymilian Bielecki

Maksymilian Bielecki defended his PhD at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in 2010. His scientific interests focus on working memory, cognitive enhancement, and eye-tracking studies. Currently he is involved in scientific cooperation with the Nencki Institute of Experimental Biology and the Department of Internal Medicine & Cardiology of The Medical University of Warsaw. He currently teaches statistics, methodology, and psychometrics to graduate, post graduate, and PhD students of SWPS and the University of Warsaw.

George Parrott

George Parrott is a Professor of Psychology, emeritus at California State University, Sacramento. He has over 50 years of experience in psychology with the main interests being sports psychology, research methods and statistics, personality psychology and history of psychology. Professor Parrott has been teaching and working in many countries all over the world, e.g. the USA, the UK, Australia and Poland. In 2013 Parrott received a Fulbright Scholar appointment in Poland.

Monika Suchowierska

Monika Suchowierska received her degree from the University of Kansas in 2003. During her stay in the United States, Dr. Suchowierska became interested in the theoretical and practical knowledge of behavior analysis. In particular, she became interested in its implementation in working with autistic children. Since October 2004, she is an assistant professor in the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (SWPS).
Dr. Suchowierska received a Fulbright Scholarship to California State University, Stanislaus. Monica has been working in a clinical practice for 16 years with children with autism and since 2005, she has been the director of the Centre for Early Intervention "Step by Step". From 2006 to 2009,
Dr. Suchowierska served as chair of the Polish Society for Behavioral Studies.

Anna Gabińska

Anna Gabińska, Ph.D., is an assistant professor at the Department of Positive Psychology at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. Her major areas of interest and expertise are: psychological assessment, clinical psychology and positive psychology. She has several years of experience working in a clinical setting as well as providing workshops for different populations aimed at developing skills that promote well-being. She is a member of the International Society for Dialogical Science and a co-founder and a member of the Board of Polish Association of Positive Psychology.

Svitlana Luppo

Svitlana Luppo has a degree in the field of Educational and Developmental Psychology. She is an employee of the Humanitarian Institute of the National Aviation University (Kyiv). Her scientific activity is related with research of adult individual life interactions through the prism of psychotraumatic experience. Svitlana has years of a psychologist experience in the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine and work experience in forensic psychological inspection. Her practice is related to the post-stress psychological rehabilitation. Svitlana has a certificate of the Moscow Institute of Existential Psychology and Life Creativity. During the last 15 years
Dr. Svitlana Luppo has been combining her psychological practice with research and teaching activities.

Volodymyr Morozov

Volodymyr Morozov, Doctor of sciences (Public Administration), Associate Professor, Full Professor of Department of pedagogy and psychology of social systems management of National Technical University «Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute». Author of over 170 scientific and methodical publications, has passed the rise of qualification at the Regional Institute of Administration (Lille, France) and the University of Tampere (Tampere, Finland), and fulfils the duties of a member of the editorial board of two scientific professional magazines. The author, initiator and coordinator of large sociological research «The valuation of the level of individual's labor potential development» in organization of which on the territory of the European Union participated the Transport and Telecommunication Institute (Riga, Latvia) and the Savonia University of Applied Sciences (Kuopio Finland). Member of the Specialized Scientific Council on defending of the thesis for the degree of Ph.D. (public administration). Research and teaching experience of over 25 years. The main scientific interests: management of labour potential development; motivational mechanism of labour activity stimulation; religious and cultural aspects of labour activity; management of staff and organizational development; management of efficiency of functioning of higher education system and its quality.

Julia Chala

Julia Chala, Ph. D., is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Pedagogy and Psychology of Social Systems Management at NTU «KhPI» National Technical University «Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute». Her major area of interest and expertise is acquiring significant professional experience by future psychologists. She participated in the study visit (32h training) at the University of Tampere, Finland within the framework of the project «Education for Leadership, Intelligence and Talent Encouraging» (Tempus). She is working on the issue of Identification of Individual Leader Profile.

Conference fees

The conference fee is 100 UAH for students, 150 UAH for PhD candidates and others, 200 UAH for lecturers, scientists and psychologists (18 PLN, 27 PLN and 36 PLN respectively).
