The Biennial Symposia on Personality and Social Psychology (BSPSP) are intended to become a regular forum for psychologists and representatives of allied disciplines. Rather than providing a comprehensive review of research on personality and social issues, the goal of BSPSP is to reflect on selected, advanced themes in that field. Thus the conference is intended to encourage further deliberation of the topic. The audience would comprise graduate students and professionals in personality, social functioning, and individual differences.
It is hoped that publication of the conference papers will make the contents of the meetings available to a wider scientific public. Warsaw Lectures on Personality and Social Psychology. Vol. 1 grows out of the first BSPSP, which was held on September 21-23, 2006, at the Warsaw School of Social Psychology. The title of the first volume is Personality from biological, cognitive, and social perspectives.
Specific chapters of the book are written by such specialists as Marek Cielecki, Joanna Dreszer, Urszula Jakubowska, Monika Lewandowska, Risto Näättänen, Włodzimierz Oniszczenko, Frank van Overwalle, Katarzyna Paprzycka, Ernst Pöppel, Jan Strelau, Elżbieta Szeląg, and Aneta Szymaszek. Moreover, the publication is co-edited by Tomasz Maruszewski, Michael W. Eysenck, and Małgorzata Fajkowska.
The list of authors includes such names as Michael W. Eysenck, Nico Frijda, Gerald Matthews, Keith Oatley. The publication is edited by Michael W. Eysenck, Malgorzata Fajkowska, and Tomasz Maruszewski.
